GCH. Dash comes to see his kids...

Dash came to town with his owner Elaine and Elaine's mother "Grammy" to have him shown at the Walla Walla Kennel Club show this weekend.. which he did very well in. Here he is with Sunny and Nicki getting acquainted. The lower picture is pretty self explanatory...

Sun shiny day...

Not to say that my dogs are lazy but as you can see they rest quite often when its nice outside. Here you will see Nicki resting her head over her arch enemy Sunny in a "time out" session nestled up against there favorite chew toy my 8 month old Westie Emily and of course the kids mother Zoe in the background.

Henri's Easter Update

Dear Friends and Family, This last week, Henri went for a followup visit to see his internist, Dr Herman. We weren't suppose to go until the end of the month but things have not gone as smoothly as we had hoped. Our attempts to lower his Prednisone to a "safe" dose failed to hold the Crohn's Disease in remission. We tried Budesonide, a more potent steroid but our first attempt with it, also, failed. The internist felt that Henri's Crohn's Disease will require steroids for life to hold in remission. In light of that, we have decided to add in another immune modulating drug to assist us in lowering the steroid dose (either Prednisone or Budesonide) to a "safe" level for long-term use. We added Azathioprine on Tuesday. In 4-weeks, we will attempt to taper the Prednisone again and hope Azathioprine assists us in achieving our goal of less than 2.5mg/day Prednisone. Prayer Please!! Henri is feeling good. Other than his coat being thin, you would not know the little guy has so much going on. He is such a fun, happy, loving little guy. I am disappointed for him that this disease will require meds for life. Henri is a fighter though...his true terrier blood has helped him push forward against all odds. On the fundraising front, the official Helping Henri Medical Fund is moving forward. We have a solid core membership which has made this novel idea--a success. Additionally, we have some other fundraising ideas that will hopefully contribute to the Fund. The first official Fund financial statement will come to members in May. Thank you to everyone that has Helped Henri and our family continue this journey! Attached are some photos from our Westie Easter Egg hunt. Henri, Bella and Charlie (Henri's half brother) had lots of fun opening the eggs. Bella's egg opening technique consists of smashing it with her paw. Henri and Charlie seemed to prefer to crack them open with their mouths. You will see in the photos that Bella is a Pro--We eventually had to hold her back so the boys could get some--She wasn't too happy about that either. Enjoy! Warmly, Ella Helping Henri Medical Fund "The Mission of this community is to help support Henri's medical costs and prevent the termination of his life due to finances alone."

Typical day in the back yard at White Diamond Terriers...

Look at the carnage...lol Ok, my dogs are spoiled and lazy, this is a typical afternoon here. Everyone has worn themselves out playing all morning so its time for an afternoon nap... Looks pretty inviting, if your a pooch!

Caged fury...

Shown here in a "time out" are Sunny and Nicki...lol These two are non stop attention hogs. All it takes is to pick one of them up for a little attention and the other sibling starts to let you know how unfair it is. As soon as the puppy your holding hits the ground someone going to get chewed on, chewed on again and chased around house!

Fun in the Sun!

Here are Zoe's puppies at ten weeks old now with the only Westie I have, Emily who will put up with being chewed on and chased around the yard much less the wrestling matches they have...

Sunny is in the forground and Nicki is out back. You may notice Nicki has a funny color to her. I have stripped all her hair off to promote hard coat growth.

Zoe's puppies at 10 weeks old.

Sunny, the darker puppy and Nicki, the puppy with no hair... are really growing up fast. They are both great eaters... in fact so great, feeding them together is starting to become a challenge as they are arguing over food. They still keep each other company at night and now are outside for entertainment with my other dogs when the weather is right. Sunny has tried to impress Jack my champion stud Westie but is struck down regularly being reminded he is still 10 weeks old and has a ways to go before a real challenge can be offered for king of the hill. He spends most of his time sniffing the yard so getting him to fully extend his neck for a picture was no so easy but trust me... its all there!

Nicky had to be stripped down to her skin today to promote hard hair growth so she is out suntanning today. Both puppies have great necks, beautiful angulation and nice blacks eyes which is hard to come by in this breed. Great job and congrat's to there parents Dash and Zoe.
